SAFEGUARDING

All staff at Wellbrook School have a responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of our pupils. We also work collaboratively with external agencies to ensure pupils and staff are safeguarded and their welfare is promoted. All safeguarding concerns are dealt with by staff trained to the level of Designated Safeguarding Lead. The rest of the school staff, teaching and non-teaching, undergo annual training around their own safeguarding requirements as outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Should you have any concerns about the health, safety or wellbeing of a pupil who attends Wellbrook School you should share this information with an appropriate member of staff immediately. If your concerns are of a child protection nature, where you feel the pupil may be subjected to either physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect you can contact the people listed below via the school office or email safeguarding@wellbrookschool.co.uk.

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) – Suzanna Hughes (Assistant Headteacher).
  • Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) – Claire Howells (Headteacher).
  • The member of the Governance Committee responsible for safeguarding is Anita Sharma who can be contacted via email at anita@wellbrookschool.co.uk.

From time to time, pupil information may be shared with third party agencies where welfare concerns have been raised. These concerns will initially be shared with the pupil’s parents or carer unless their involvement places the pupil at risk.

Our safeguarding policy can be found on the school website or alternatively you can contact the school office for a printed copy.
