Meet our school therapy dog, Loki

Hi! My name is Loki. I’m an 9-year-old Cavachon, which means I’m a mix of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise. I have a sweet and gentle temperament, and I absolutely adore cuddles. My favourite thing to do is nap, especially on someone’s lap if they stay still long enough!

I live with Mrs. Hughes and her family, which includes another dog and some cats. That means I’m used to lots of noise, playtime, and being around other animals. Sometimes, though, loud noises can scare me, and when that happens, I’ll go find my bed or a cozy, safe spot to settle down.
I’ll be spending some time in classrooms, and I’m really good at listening to readers or just snoozing on beanbags (I love a good beanbag!). You’ll often see me around school with Mrs. Hughes, who is your Assistant Headteacher.

Meet our school dog, Olwen

Hi! My name is Olwen. I’m an 3 year-old Labrador. I love to make friends, and enjoy cuddles, walks and treats! My favourite thing to do is rub against people’s legs!

I live with Mrs. Howells and her family, which includes another dog, a flat coated retriever called Nerys.

Before I went to live with Mrs Howells, I was in a rescue centre in Wales. Before I went there, I was mistreated on a puppy farm and because of that, I sometimes bark at people who surprise me, who are tall or are wearing a hat. Once I know that we are safe, I calm straight down and go looking for cuddles again.

I’ll be spending some time in classrooms, and really enjoy a bit of fuss. I will be spending most of my day with Mrs Howells, but would love to go for a walk with you, or sit with you in class, if you are feeling worried.

Did you know that having us in school can make a big difference for everyone? Research has shown that dogs in schools bring loads of benefits—not just joy and cuddles (though I’m great at those!) but also real improvements for the whole school community.

So, you see, we are not just here for naps and beanbags. We are here to help make school a happier and healthier place for everyone!
