We have a Student Council which is made up of representatives from different classes who meet with the Headteacher to discuss and make decisions about school matters. This allows students to experience first-hand the democratic process and understand the importance of collective decision-making. Pupil voice is important and helps pupils both to reflectively engage in their learning, and to consider or challenge the issues that are important to them at school.
We make sure everyone understands the importance of rules, whether they apply to our class, school, or the country. We work together to create and display rules in each classroom. Pupils also learn that rules and laws exist to guide and protect us. We help them understand the responsibilities that come with following these rules and the outcomes when rules are not followed. It is all about creating a safe and respectful environment for everyone.
We actively support children in developing their self-knowledge, self-esteem, and self-confidence. Through tailored programs and positive reinforcement, we encourage children to take responsibility for their behaviour while ensuring they are well-informed about their rights. Additionally, we are committed to challenging stereotypes and fostering an inclusive environment. We strongly stand against bullying, creating a safe and respectful space where every child can feel empowered to be themselves.
Every member of our school community is expected to treat one another with respect. We create opportunities for children to explore places of cultural significance and worship. We actively welcome visitors from various communities and organisations, especially during assemblies. Additionally, the school annually supports charities that resonate with the pupils. We organise fundraising and awareness activities to actively contribute to these charitable causes.
